Conceived as a musical suite of connected works rather than a single piece, Suite for an Imaginary Forest evokes the slow passage of time in a forest’s life. Each movement mirrors a rhythm of growth and change— deliberate, cyclical, and unfolding across centuries. Telese employed techniques that treat time as a material, allowing dust, pigment, and lapis lazuli to settle, coalesce, and dry at their own pace, echoing the shifting seasons of an imagined landscape.
